CAMP RAMSEY NORRIS

1931

In 1931, black scouts and leaders attended Camp Ramsey Norris in August. This camp was located at a portion of North Chickamauga Creek near (or perhaps at) Camp Tsatanugi.

 

The camp staff consisted of:  James L. Jenkins (camp director), L.T. Hurt (first class advancement), M.L. Brown (second class advancement), Walter Few (Tenderfoot instructor), William Jenkins (swimming instructor), Earl Bone (first class instructor), Alonzo Nelms (assistant second-class instructor), Joe Rogers (night guard), Leon Harrington (senior patrol leader), Philip Thompson (junior patrol leader), William Bynum (program committee), and James Green (assistant second-class instructor).
