Until the late 1960s, the Scouts maintained their headquarters in downtown Chattanooga.  The location moved between Broad Street, Market Street, East 7th Street, East 8th Street, and East 4th Street.  During this time, the Negro Division sometimes shared its headquarters with the rest of the council, and other times maintained its own headquarters.

 

In the 1970s, the council headquarters was located on East Brainerd Road, moved to Eastgate Center in the early 1980s, and finally broke ground on a permanent headquarters at its current location on Lee Highway.
