John "Doc" Kellogg

John Rodes "Doc" Kellogg, Sr. and his wife Nancy Frank Kellogg of Spring City, TN were long-time staff members at Skymont Scout Reservation and well known Scouters in the Cherokee Area Council.


Doc served as the health officer at Camp La-No-Che in Florida from 1957-1961 and 1969-1973.


Doc passed away August 25, 2007 in Chattanooga.  Born in Louisville, Kentucky on September 25, 1917, he was the son of Dr. Hugh Knight and Mary Settle Kellogg.  Doc attended Julliard School of Music in New York.  He was a retired Respiratory Therapist who worked in hospitals in Kentucky and Florida.  Doc and Nancy moved to Rhea County, TN in 1972 from Paisley, Florida.  A veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army, Doc was a member and past president of the Spring City Kiwanis Club and was a member of the Boy Scouts of America for move than 70 years.
