George Norris was Council Commissioner and a long-time Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 176 on Signal Mountain.  He served in this capacity from 1976 until 1993.  He received the Silver Beaver award in 1986 and was Scoutmaster in 1990 for the Council's fifth Wood Badge course (course SE0553).

George Norris was a charter member of Talidandaganu' Lodge and Skymont Scout Reservation has (or used to have) the George Norris award.
